That Day of Baisakhi

That Day of Baisakhi

Everybody had gathered there
But who knew what was gonna happen here?
The door closed and the fires started,
Many people's souls departed.
They did not know what the happening was,
But now how could they compensate for the loss ?

Bullets marked the walls,
Now this is how humanity falls.
They jumped in the wells.
They could hear the ringing knells.
The soldiers did not stop a while
Because the General had a malicious smile.

It was the sea of Blood, a Bloody kingdom
Of the thousands whose corpses now lay rotting in the Sun.
What could they do ?
Those coward soldiers, they could not shoo.
My tribute to the martyrs, I pay,
Through this poem, for them, I pray.

Today, let us all pray for the martyrs of the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre on the completion of a century of this incident. May all of them Rest In Peace.
