Dear August (14 August 2026)

Oftentimes, we get stuck in a loop. It's as if a CD is playing again and again. Bro, your life is not a video game. You can choose to take a step and change the reality. Getting out of that loop is hard, especially when you're used to that comfort. I know it feels safe now but it's slowly leading to an abyss. Before it becomes rooted, you need to pluck it out. Pick up your paper and pen, and chalk out the complexity inside your brain on the damn paper. It's gonna solve 50% of the problem, then 40% counts for your mindset and the remaining 10% I taking action. (gross stats)

Dear July (22-07-26)

You get engulfed in your repeated patterns and you don't even know. You get so immersed in them that you find them normal. They are not. They are hiding something. Peel off layer by layer. There will be more pain after every layer but eventually you see the truth and all the agony seems to disappear after the revelation. These patterns are deep rooted in your traumas. Face them and you shall conquer.

Dear July (21 July 2026)

It's easier to preach than do. It's easier said than done. This statement has been a primordial truth since ages. I experience this every other day, and today was not different. You go to calm down others' fire when you yourself are burning hot on the inside. In those woven, tangled moments of time, you get to introspect yourself on a deeper level, sometimes finding a solution to a problem you never had. You see the differences and understand but emotion beats logic and you are back to square one again. What do you do? Restart or quit?

Dear July (18-07-26)

It's okay to rest. Not all days are productive. What is your definition of 'productive' though? For me, it's adding a little more to my treasure of knowledge daily (don't take me wrong, I need to do it, after all I am gonna save lives). My momma says do not do something when you don't feel like doing it. I have never gotten an advice better than this in my entire life. It works every time. Every moment is predecided. No number of vague tries to control anything will succeed. What can one do besides trusting?

Dear July (16-7-26)

Dear July,
You find so many different ways to humble me. Lessons need to be taught, I know but not at the pace you are racing at. I have learnt to turn the light inwards. It's a refreshing experience, I must say. No amount of control can really alter a scenario. Sometimes, you need to let go. I am not someone who usually writes short sentences but here I am. Time changes, you change. It's never the same July every year.

Tomorrow I Am Turning 20

Tomorrow I am turning 20.

Saying goodbye to the teenage years,
Bidding adieu to the carefree me,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

Leaving that immature teenager behind,
Reminiscing those sweet moments,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

Remembering those experiences,
Thanking for every high and low,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

Shifting to my city of dreams,
Seeing my hometown one last time,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

Walking past my beloved school,
Entering the next prof in uni,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

Finishing my 19th with grace,
Embracing this new adulthood,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

With big dreams in my eyes
And trust in my myself,
Tomorrow I am turning 20.

A Story, Unfinished

As I picked up the quill,
Fear made its home in me.
You became the ink,
Made me believe you were indelible.
The story started,
Oh, how beautifully the quill baltered,
How smoothly it glided over
The fresh piece of paper.
Little did I know,
Endings come way before time.
Even before the warmth of a thread is felt,
It snaps.
Every word on the sheet
Felt like a gaping wound.
The story was left to be incomplete...
But when do quill and ink part ways?
New beginnings never come
Without endings.

Tuesday Talks #12 - True Love

I saw love. I felt love. She cried when I cried. He could not sleep when I was in pain. At that moment I realized what true love is. They stayed up all night when my body was so sick that I couldn't speak. They listened to me when I couldn't say anything to anyone. Their heart ached a lot when tears couldn't stop rolling down my cheeks. In their eyes, I saw pain and then I saw love, I felt that warmth. At that instant, I knew I was the luckiest person ever. Even if the whole world stands against me, they will always stand with me. I knew they were the parents who are every daughter's wish. This is True Love.

You know I used to get so shocked when my friends told me how their parents scolded them for scoring low in the exams and tests. Yeah! I used to be shocked because my parents never scolded me for marks or grades. Whenever I got low marks, they simply said it's ok, give your best the next time and I got relieved. I am very thankful to my parents for being so lenient with me unlike other parents who were often strict with their children. I can firmly say that they raised a girl who knows how to deal with failures, never dwells on them, knows how to move on eventually and bounce back stronger.

Once in grade 9th, it was time for our Physics class but our teacher usually gave us certain life lessons when she thought it was necessary for us to know. That day she told something which I never forgot till this date, I probably never will and will definitely tell it further to anyone who needs it. She said, "Just think about your parents. How much more time do you think you have left to spend with them? This year, next year, probably the next two years as well but after that, more than half of you will leave your hometown or even country for pursuing their higher education in different colleges and unis. Then after that most of you will work at some other place. And most of the girls, when you'll get married, you'll have to leave your parents' house. So just think now. How much time do you really have left to stay with your parents? Just 4-5 years on average. I was speechless. I am sure even you are right now.

As we grow up, we often forget that our parents are also growing old. No one will ever love you more than your parents. Always try not to hurt them. Try to keep them happy, they deserve all the happiness in this world. Spend time with them. Dance with them on their favourite songs. Take them to their favourite place. Tell them how much you love them. You don't know how many times they have fought for you, how many sacrifices they have done for you secretly and how many of their own desires they could not fulfil because of that.

Imagine carrying a bag of some weight without keeping it down for nine months straight. Tiring, huh? Mothers do the same. Endless needles, medicines, pain! Just remember that the next time you are angry with your momma without a valid reason.

Now imagine carrying a heavy load on your head which only you can see and nobody else and when someone asks the reason of your tiredness you just can't say anything. You are not even allowed to express your emotions. All you can do is smile and say I am fine even when you're not. Fathers do it daily.

Now,

Get up, go to your mum and dad, hug them and say "I love you" OR Dial their number and tell them how important and special they are for you and they mean the world to you.

If not now, when?

Cacophony of Life

Where do you go,
When your role becomes so tiring?
What do you do
When the cacophony of life won't stop?
Who do you run to,
When the world around becomes an endless abyss?

Do you complain to the stars
Or do you talk to the leaves?
Do you take respite from this existence
Or do you wander away far into the seas?
Do you delve deep into your mind
Or do you listen to the sighs of the breeze?

Don't let
Whispers of the wind
Go unnoticed, pretty one.
A lot of magic
Still remains hidden
In that Solitude.

Tuesday Talks #11 - There's a Moon Among These Stars!

She was taking her last breath. We all sat around her with tears in our eyes. She did not leave until she saw everybody. And when the last member of the family came, she took a deep breath and, never breathed again. There was silence. No more pain, no more suffering, just silence. I still remember how she lay on the floor, looking upwards at the sky, gone forever.

She grew up with me. How can a puppy not be a toddler's best friend? She had a heart of gold. When my little sister slept, she used to sit beside her. As soon as she woke up, this little being would go and continuously look at mommy to inform her that the tiny baby is awake now. The way she greeted us when we entered the house, that was heavenly. She was the perfect definition of unconditional love and joy.

Now, when she is gone, her absence hits harder. Even though we got a new pet, nobody can fill the place she holds in our hearts. It's the same in this world of humans. We miss someone and understand their importance only when they are gone. And when they have gone very faraway, we regret. That regret starts killing us from inside.

Value those who give you their time. No one is free. Why do they message or call you? Not because they're trying to intrude into your lives but just because they care for you, they care about the bond you share with them, they have a good heart. Never ignore these people, never.

One day, when you wake up, you might realise that you lost a real precious gem while searching for another among the fake ones. Once contact is lost, once that bridge collapses, it's really hard to restore it
If you ever meet the next time, you feel that strangers' vibe. Believe me, it feels so bad.

You might think why to disturb anyone without a reason. Sorry to say but your thinking is completely wrong. I bet half of the world population feels so lonely but anybody rarely gets up to cure that. Now most of that happens because nobody is ready to give up their ego!

"Why should I message/call first? They never did!"
(Bruh, they might be shy)

"They might be busy."
(No, they're not)

"School/College/Work over, friendship over"
(Wow, what a logic)

"Oh, they'll gossip about me later on."
(Let them do, you did your part and that was good *cheers*)

"They'll think I am so annoying."
(Your heart knows you are doing right, ignore all other thoughts)

Sometimes you never know if you are spending your time with a wolf hidden in the costume of a sheep. Due to that, you unintentionally lose the real ones. It's kinda hard but you can always feel that unique connection you have with someone if they are true. Intuition is a real thing!

This isn't a video game. Nobody's getting a second life here. So stop overthinking. Do what your heart says. Live.

So what's stopping you?! Text or call a person now who you really think deserves that little time of yours. Be it a friend, a relative or anyone else! Good luck!

Tuesday Talks #10 - It's Okay to Cry

Tuesday Talks #10 - It's Okay to Cry

I reached the school crying. Took a deep breath, wiped off the tears and put a fresh smile on my face. At least others' day should not be negative! Don't worry, your happy soul is still happy. This scene happened only twice. Once when our pet passed away and another time when someone's words hit me really hard, very hard. It's okay to cry.

The pillow which absorbed your tears, the walls of the room or washroom which heard you cry, the mirror which mimicked your expressions, the sad songs and quotes which understood you far better than anyone else, all of these became your best friends when nobody was there to give a shoulder to cry on, when you couldn't tell anyone anything.

It feels so light after crying, right? As if you just removed a gigantic burden off your mind, as if you jumped off a mountain. Phew! Suddenly, the world around you becomes a movie. You get a better understanding of what to do next.

Sometimes people misunderstand this emotion as a tactic to gain sympathy. We can't explain our point to everyone every time. It's utter foolishness and wastage of time. Many a times, you are labelled as weak if you cry. But trust me, it's okay to cry! We are humans and not machines. Emotions do not discriminate whether you are a woman or a man, black or white, rich or poor. We have feelings and emotions and we have the right to express them. It's natural. Sometimes we are alone and the other times we have our family or friends as the helping hand.

Never ever burrow your feelings inside you. Never! It's really dangerous. If you have to grow and progress in life, you need to overcome these barriers first. Then only you'll be able to focus on what you really want in life. At times, we need to let our emotions out, it's healthy. Wash away every negative feeling with those precious tears. The past will never change and the future is uncertain so enjoy the present moment. God has planned the best for you, you just need to wait and trust in the Power.

Whenever you feel like crying, do it. Of course, your problems won't vanish magically but it will surely lighten up your mood. Also, think of all the things that brought you where you are today. Recall your past successes. Remember how we all found it so hard to do math problems in class 2nd but now- Boom! We laugh seeing those. See life that way. If you are in a situation that is really bad and is making you worried, think of all your past accomplishments where you thought you wouldn't make it but you nailed it and proved that you are a champion, no matter how high the mountain in front of you is. Keep a positive mindset, I swear it works everytime.

So, it's okay to cry!

That Gust of Wind

A gust of wind
Blew me away.
Had millions of thoughts...
But I couldn't say.
It gave me eyes
And I was swayed.
Then it left,
Making every colour fade.
Hope is the only light
Which now remains.
That gust of wind
Will forever bring sweet rains.

Tuesday Talks #9 - Time Flies ...

(I wrote this on 11 September 2021...)

Tuesday Talks #9 - Time Flies ...

I was looking at my old photos when I was a chhota baby (little baby). Then I looked at myself in the mirror and kept on staring. I realised how much I changed. Not only my physical appearance but my mind also, not only did I change but a lot of things did.

This year, I'll be an adult officially. Now that is where nostalgia plays its role. Then I travel down the memory lane. Golden and precious! Over the past years, how many people came and left. So many people who I knew left for their heavenly abode and I never imagined that but as the years rolled by, I understood that nothing is permanent in this life. So always celebrate the moment you are in now and thank God for where and who you are today.

When I observe the environment around me, I am surprised to learn how much it has changed over the years. Those school going children are now dispersed in different cities and working hard to achieve their dreams. That energetic uncle and aunty who used to drive to their workplace every morning are now retired and have embraced every disease including diabetes, hypertension and what not. That peaceful grandma in the next house is present no more and her sons have parted their ways. The little puppy next door has grown to be a full fledged beast now. What remains same is the guava tree in the yard and it never forgets to fruit.

I see the pencil marks on that wall which marked how tall we grew every three months, that inflated ball and that broken cricket bat with which the whole family used to play with us as toddlers, that small bicycle which now stays alone mostly, those awards and shields which get polished every Diwali, those books which are preserved but never opened and so much more. God! So many changes. Do you realise we are so different now? Like a complete different being from what we used to be.

From explaining our point till we won the argument to keeping quiet and letting it be, we became mature. From being stubborn about those petty things to making sacrifices, we learnt a lot. From thinking nobody understands us to sympathising with everybody, we grew up. Yes, we grew up. So did everything around us. We left behind a lot and a lot is yet to come.

Life will not be the same again. Not at all. However, the cycle will repeat. We will keep on seeing our memories in one way or the other, in things or in people. Change is the law of nature! So let's accept it happily. The magic tip is to always live in the moment. We don't know what life holds for us the next second. Cherish the memories you made and be hopeful for the time coming ahead.

Alert! It's gonna be a roller coaster ride - highs n lows but worth the joy!

Nothingness

We all need a pause sometimes, a simple break, a break to get away from the hustle of life. Sometimes we feel - "Oh, it's so exhausting!". It really is.

Buddy, life gets so complex sometimes that you yourself forget what you were up to. You forget everything about your existence on this Earth. Ever felt like that? It seems like a fairy tale. You live in your own world, the one in your head.

Then suddenly, you get touched by reality again. It's painful. It's gruesome. Still it's beautiful because this will never come again to you in the same way it is now. Enjoy it. Time flies. Good things take time.

Touch of the Breeze

The cool breeze rushes through
my flowing locks.
It greets so warmly that
a gush of positivity unlocks.

The tree dances happily,
its leaves show boundless beauty.
The chirping birds make me realise,
I have an unfulfilled duty.

The sparkle glistens brightly,
Showing me a path to tread.
It radiates endless hope, tells me to
Be my own friend.

More Than Life

More Than Life

Some cross that bridge

and go to a place unknown.

This night's gonna be tough

but keep waiting for the beautiful dawn.

That touch might have got vanished

but not those memories.

Stop missing, start living,

you still have to create infinite stories.

Durga

When she says no, understand,
There's always a bitter truth behind.

She doesn't set any boundaries,
The devils around her do.

She has the right to be free
And not be bound in a cage.

She is not the subject of any joke,
Not an object to be laughed at.

She is already made perfect,
Somebody else needs to be scolded now.

Why should she live in fear,
When Durga resides in her.

Worshipping idols will not do,
Respecting the living will.

Don't think her to be powerless.
She's not made to be crushed.

If you shake this calmness,
Storms are sure to come.

Oh This Tranquillity !

There is some sound in this silence

Which speaks to me,

Promising good time,

Telling me to be brave.

When the world is in its dreamland,

there comes a fairy

Bringing the glare of goodness,

Spreading good light everywhere.

There is some magic in this silence,

It doesn't let me stop,

There is some mystery in this silence,

Bound to be unravelled one day ...

Cheer Up !

Cheer Up !

I am powerful,

I am matchless,

I can touch the sky,

I can shine like a star.

The world awaits me,

My throne needs me.

I will fall and get up,

My vocab has no "giving up".

Gearing up for the journey,

The lion in me is ready to roar ...
